Since I am on a seafood diet..or rather "see-food" diet (I Eat what I see), here is another seafood recipe coming up. So what do you think these will end up as? Let me get the looong post ready..so have patience..
arikkadukka alle ? the first thing i do after reaching my comp at office is to check whether u updated any new recipe ..u doing a fantastic job here..ur pics of the dishes are also very appealing...BTW,pls tell me which camera u r using..?
Sorry Ummukulsoom..its not the camera but her photography skill thatz playing here.I found out the camera she uses in a roundabt way(I'm so sorry mallu gal)..but came to the final conclusion that its the "Owner's skill".. I have not heard abt arikkadukka, but I am sure, some authentic dish from your mom gonna bloom up.. Sort of "Ularthu"..sauted dry fry with all those spices coated up is all what I can guess..
I have been to Zaine's....their food is so tasty..and their pathiri..i have no words...i went rather late..so almost everything was over....
my mom makes amazing kadukka..but ask for the recipe..and she says..add this and that...
I am waiting to go to calicut to eat kadukka and all the small fishes..I love the meen upperi mom makes with the netholi and coconut...and crunchy fried netholi...do people make kadukka biriyani? and another thing in the fish biriyani do I have to fry the masala long enough so that it becomes brown in colour?
nandu kutty, i too miss the small fish! got my mom to bring some netholi pickled this time. :) I know that sounds extreme, right? We don't make kadukka biryani, though we do make shrimp biryani. similar in recipe to the fish one... for the fish biryani, don't fry the masala for too long.
As the fish is almost cooked and won't leave out any water like meat, the moistness in the masala is what flavours the rice. so just cook it till the spices get cooked and the onions-tomatoes etc come together in a light brown state.
hi! i saw the kallummakkaya and couldnt help it!I hail from thalassery, and we have these every possible chance we get!We found some here in america and my husband was overjoyed!!Personally i prefer the soaked rice over podi! yours look great..yummm..wish i could eat some now!
